Parliament Continues Work of Regular Sittings

On November 18, the RA National Assembly continued the work of the regular sittings by voting passing the bill on Making Addendum to the RA Tax Code authored by the Bright Armenia debated on November 15.

The parliament continued the debate of the draft law on Amending the RA Law on Public Service.

The National Assembly debated in the first reading the draft law on Making Addenda to the RA Law on Normative Legal Acts authored by the Government.

According to the RA First Deputy Minister of Justice Rafik Grigoryan, amendment of technical character is made.

The Deputy Chair of the RA NA Standing Committee on State and Legal Affairs Anna Karapetyan presented the endorsement of the Committee.

The parliament debated the item on appointment of the first members of the Committee on Corruption Prevention.

The Speaker of the RA National Assembly Ararat Mirzoyan has informed that the candidates, nominated by the Government, the RA NA My Step, Prosperous Armenia, Bright Armenia Factions and Supreme Judicial Council are represented in the position of the member of the Committee on Corruption Prevention.

The Government nominated Lilit Aleksanyan’s candidacy in that position. The RA NA My Step nominated Edgar Shatiryan in the position of the Committee on Corruption Prevention, the Prosperous Armenia Faction – Narek Hambardzumyan, the Bright Armenia Faction – Haykuhi Harutyunyan. The Supreme Judicial Council nominated Aramayis Pashinyan’s candidacy in the position of the Committee on Corruption Prevention.

The candidates presented the biographical data and their visions on the activity of the Committee on Corruption Prevention. They also answered to numerous questions concerning the MP.

The RA NA deputies Heriknaz Tigranyan, Sergey Bagratyan, Viktor Yengibaryan, Arman Babajanyan, Arpine Davoyan, Suren Grigoryan, Mikayel Melkumyan, Tsovinar Vardanyan and the RA NA Deputy Speaker Vahe Enfiajyan in their speeches touched upon the importance of the Committee on Corruption Prevention and underlined the presented candidates' professional preparedness.

On behalf of the RA NA Faction Bright Armenia Faction Taron Simonyan delivered a speech. According to him, their Faction will vote for everybody’s candidacy.

In their final speeches the candidates thanked the attendees for the debate and expressed hope that in case of being elected they would succeed and together will fight against corruption.

The Secretary of the RA NA Accounting Committee Arpine Davoyan has informed that the secret ballot of the members of the Committee on Corruption Prevention will take place on November 19, at 12:00 – 13:00.

The parliament debated the package of bills on Amending the Law on Minimum Monthly Salary in the second reading.

The National Assembly debated in the first reading the legislative package on Making Amendments and Addendum to the RA Labor Code.

Arpine Davoyan presented the endorsement of the RA NA Standing Committee on Health Care and Social Affairs.

The parliament will continue the work on November 19, at 10:00.
